What you will learn
β Why active listening might be of utmost importance in some cases: The intestines encountered in the echolab!
β One of the most acute gastrointestinal conditions that anyone operating an ultrasound machine should be able to spot: How to diagnose an ileus!
β Cross-disciplinary incidental findings: Many case examples of why you should broaden your clinical perspective using ultrasound.
β Portal vein hemodynamics: you will learn how to use ultrasound to examine portal vein hemodynamics - and find out how cardiac and portal hemodynamics might sometimes even be connected.

A look into our first live webinar on Hypertensionβ! π
The classical appearance of hypertensive heart disease β When assessing hypertensive heart disease, focus on:
π‘ Morphology of hypertrophy: Typically, a rather symmetric thickening of the left ventricular walls (lateral wall, septum, and posterior wall), though some asymmetry may occur.
π‘ Secondary findings: High blood pressure often leads to sclerosis of the aortic valve and mitral annular calcification.
π‘ Variations: Some patients may present with a septal bulge or a so-called sigmoid septum, which is a localized thickening of the basal septum, commonly seen in elderly patients and associated with aging and long-standing hypertension. While usually a benign finding, it can occasionally cause left ventricular outflow obstruction, especially if the basal septum is significantly thickened or the aortoseptal angle is decreased.

You will gain mastery in:
β
Advanced Organ Imaging: Deepen your knowledge of the Liver, Pancreas, and Kidney, covering specialized pathologies, Doppler sonography, and quantitative ultrasound (QUS/elastography) for steatosis evaluation.
β
Gastrointestinal & Vascular Ultrasound: Learn detailed sonoanatomy and scanning techniques to diagnose complex GI conditions (e.g., diverticulitis, ileus, hernia) and perform advanced abdominal vascular assessments.
β
Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound (CEUS): Master the technical principles, indications, examination performance, and interpretation of common pathologies using CEUS for enhanced diagnostic accuracy.
